Out & About: NCMA's 'You Are Here'
Forgive me, for not blogging about this incredible art exhibit earlier, but you still have time to catch 'You Are Here' at the North Carolina Museum of Art, and you definitely don't want to miss it!
I wrote about this exhibit for Indy Week, but didn't share how amazing the experience is here. You can read my full review here on Indy's website, but here's a snippet of what I wrote.
At the media preview, I got to interview one of my favorite contemporary artists, Mickalene Thomas. She was so gracious to explain the background behind her multimedia piece that's featured in the exhibit. Combining video, textiles, audio and more, Mickalene created an experience that will suck you in and invite you to stay a while.
Have you visited?
If so, let me know what you think! If not, get yourself to the North Carolina Museum or Art before July 22nd. You have two whole weeks left to catch it before it's gone. The Museum will be open special extended hours Friday and Saturday, July 20 and 21, from 10 am to 2 am. Regular Museum hours are Tuesday to Thursday 10 am to 5 pm, Friday from 10 am to 9 pm, and Saturday and Sunday 10 am to 5 pm. Visitors are encouraged to purchase a ticket to the exhibition in advance at ncartmuseum.org/here.
