What a Difference a Year Makes
I can’t believe it’s been over a year since my last post, but such is life! We have moved into a new home since my post about Addison’s nursery and renovated everything from the roof to the crawlspace. You wouldn’t believe me if I told you that even though that was a tremendous amount of work, we’ve had even more action going on inside of the home than the work that you see completed.
So let me catch you up. We decided to take advantage of the hot market in our area and sell our home ourselves, which was a great move. Our buyer allowed us to lease back the home rent-free for two months before moving out, which allowed us to spend that eight weeks getting a lot of the renovation work we wanted to do done Before moving in. That was a great arrangement but it also is extremely challenging as I was nursing a six-month-old baby, working, and overseeing the contractors coming in and out of our new home.
We were able to get a lot done! The yard needed massive work, and we refinished all of the floors on the first floor, and replace the carpet throughout the second. We also painted all the walls inside and installed all new lighting in most of the rooms. That enabled us to move in and unpack without having too much active construction going on.
You might have seen my post on Instagram last year talking about the Mitzi lighting that we were going to be installing, and we had a new appliance package from Café by GE that I can’t wait to share with y’all.
I promise I am still going to share that with you and it won’t take me a year to do it!
Here’s a preview of what’s to come
I had my assistant Lesli create these 3D models of the kitchen and nursery so that I could have a visual of what our end goals were. Both turned out pretty close to what we’d planned! You’ll have to stay tuned to see what they look like today, 8 months later!
Next week I’m going to share where we started with the yard & tell you what major unexpected life changes that slowed us down tremendously….
Stay tuned
